Still Alive…

Ok so the last time I posted on this blog was over a year ago and sooo much has happened since then; personally and professionally.

It is crazy if I think about it!!

Amber related incidents (which I will blog about if I ever get a chance) can be summed up as follows:

• Rode her out on an outride on her own and it was amazing 🙂
• Then she got AHS (African Horse Sickness) Strain 7 – March 2011 – thought I was going to lose her but she pulled through (thank goodness)
• Took her about a couple of months to recover
• Started lunging her and breaking her in slowly again
• Participated in her first training show September 2011 – utility and walk and trot dressage test. Got thrown off twice that day – one was during the actual class!!
• Started taking her on outrides 🙂
• Didnt work her much though as I was riding other horses namely Sparky to get him fit for the endurance rides I took him on (3 in total). More about that another time…
• Being doing a bit of schooling on her but mostly taking her on outrides involving lots of walking and trotting, a bit of cantering and some bucking inbetween.
• Rode her for the first time bareback this year – even took her into the dam 🙂
• My aim to get her fit enough for a 30km endurance ride this year.. lets see how that goes.. wish me luck!
